Why Upgrade Order Wins More Games Than Raw Damage

Why Upgrade Order Wins More Games Than Raw Damage

A mistake I see constantly, and made myself for years, is dumping everything into one super-tower. It feels good until a wave slips past it and your whole plan collapses.

Coverage first, damage second. Early on, your priority should be making sure nothing reaches the end, not maximizing kills. A cheap net of decent towers beats one monster tower every time in the opening waves.

Slow and control effects deserve early investment too. A tower that slows enemies effectively multiplies the damage of everything around it. People underrate this because the number on screen is small.

Once your coverage is stable, then you pour money into scaling damage. Get the order backwards and you'll keep wondering why you barely survive levels other players clear easily.
